Technology services and consulting firm Wipro has announced a new strategic cyber security consulting service in Europe, designed to provide clients with an end-to-end solution to combat security threats.
Offered through Wipro CRS Europe, the new offering will enable clients to access the company's full range of cyber security capabilities, from strategy and implementation to managed services.
Tony Buffomante, Wipro’s SVP and global head of cyber security and risk services (CRS), said businesses across Europe are facing new challenges due to the escalation of cyber threats – an issue compounded by the rapidly changing regulatory environment.
"Our extensive experience in cyber security, global network of cybersecurists, combined with our expanded consulting capabilities, will help clients stay ahead of emerging threats and adapt to a changing regulatory environment with speed and agility,” he said. “We are thrilled to be bringing this offering to clients in this market at this critical juncture.”
Headquartered in Bengaluru, India, Wipro is a prominent presence in the global technology service and consulting arena. The firm employs more than 250,000 employees and business partners across 66 countries, which includes a global network of more than 9,000 cyber security professionals.
The arrival of its new cyber security consulting offering follows a string of recent global acquisitions in the consulting space, with the firm acquiring Australian cyber security firm Ampion, Texas-based cyber security consulting provider Edgile, as well as global management and tech consultancy Capco.

London-based Capco joined the wider business in March 2021, expanding Wipro’s presence on UK shores and making it one of the largest end-to-end consulting, technology, and transformation service providers to the banking industry.
Now, all of the firm’s cyber consulting capabilities will fall under its CyberTransform umbrella, which will be delivered to clients alongside its CyberShield managed services offering.
CyberTransform is what Wipro calls its business-aligned, strategy-first approach to cyber security transformation, designed to deliver a “truly holistic, 360 approach” to help clients manage cyber threats and build resilience.
Under its new offering, Wipro said its European consultants will work with clients to build tailored strategies and solutions to tackle the market’s unique challenges.
“Our recent acquisitions in the cyber security space, as well as our recent strategic hires in Europe, have created an opportunity for us to rethink how we serve our clients in this market,” explained John Hermans, head of Wipro CRS Europe.
“This launch will bring together our entire set of cyber capabilities under a single umbrella, allowing us to deliver clients a truly end-to-end offering that leads with strategy but delivers on every single aspect of their cyber security needs.”
